In an interview with Insights Success, Ameya Dabli, Founder of AD Ventures gave some insightful answers highlighting the influences made by him and his company to take special event programs to a new level.

  1. You could have easily continued a career in the corporate world. Instead, you choose music, was it all about your passion’s call? Enlighten us about your journey from the beginning to your carrier.

I have always been passionate about music and since early childhood, I have been training for the same. Alongside music, I continued to pursue my academic interests which helped me attain a degree in Chemical Engineering and MBA in Sales & Marketing. Thereafter I worked for various highly applauded corporate companies like Zee Telefilms, Tata Group (Indian hotels), Citibank, HSBC among others. However, since the past couple years; I’ve been keen to devote more time to music with a vision to develop and create musical concepts and themes that would be universally appealing and soothing. So, yes I believe it was definitely the inner calling that caused me to discontinue my corporate journey of 15 years and establish ADVentures. Through the platform of AD Ventures, both PurviSoali (Joint Head for AD Venture) and I pledge to contribute to the society with melodious and meaningful musical experiences.

  1. How do you stay motivated when things don’t go as planned? How do you deal with last-minute change or unexpected situation when planning an event?

As artists, there are several occasions where the audiences assembled at the event have a different expectation than what is planned. In such scenarios where last minute changes are expected, I try to read my audiences and deliver according to their expectations. This judgment I believe comes through experience and versatility; the key is to stay confident.

  1. What do you like most about your job? What is your fondest musical memory as you contributing distinctly for social causes?

Being able to contribute to humanitarian causes through music and uniting the hearts and minds of the audience across geopolitical and social strata, is deeply enthralling for me. My fondest musical memory would be performing for the Indian Armed Forces. The tour was called ‘Mission for Nation’. Getting an opportunity to spread the joy for men & women who serve our nation with commitment & dignity was by far one of the most memorable experiences.

  1. Mention some of the awards, achievements, recognition and clients’ feedback that are notable to you.

Over the years I have been fortunate to perform at various public, private and corporate concerts globally like The Art of Living Gurupurnima Celebrations- Hartford, Ekam-Satt Concert in Mumbai, Aditya Birla Group- Gujarat and Concern India Foundation- Mumbai among others. In addition to this, I have also performed at 382 weddings in 15 countries; some of the coveted weddings include Hiranandani family & weddings, Himanshu and HiralKanakia, Naresh Chedda amongst many others. One of the recent events include performing exclusively curated musical segments for the industrialist Ajay Piramal son Anand Piramal engagement to Indian business tycoon Mukesh Ambani’s daughter Isha Ambani.

  1. Versatility is the best quality of an artist, what genre of music you have mastery? In how many concerts and countries, you have performed till this date?

I believe a complete musician is the one who is limitless and infinitely versatile in his works of art. From my early childhood, I have been training for Indian semi-classical and light music. Besides this, I also perform Spiritual music (Abhangs, Sanskrit chants), Folk music through my IP called Ekam Satt. Heart to Heart is another IP where I sing exclusive Sufi and Ghazals. Apart from this, I also perform Western music as well as contemporary Bollywood music. By far I have performed at around 1500 concerts across 15 countries around the globe and I strive to continue and spread more joy and happiness in the years to come.

  1. Describe yourself in one or two words. Who has been your greatest guide, support, and source of inspiration in music?

I would describe myself to be a social entertainer. My mother, Dr. Anuradha Dabli, who’s a disciple of Prabha Atre practiced India classical and light music. It is her influence that helped me turn my passion into a full-time job. As a child, I would sit beside mom and try to imitate her while she did her ‘riyaz’. Soon this became a daily activity and from age five, I started training with her – a practice that we still continue.

  1. What are your plans & hopes for the future with regard to your music?

For me, music is not just an art form but also a form of worship for it has the ability to address and communicate every single emotion that we as humans experience in our life. I moto is to create ‘Music with a Message’,, which irrespective of its genre or language, will give the listeners an experience that is, in fact, blissful music and beyond. Few projects which are in pipeline is another IP called Mental Mettle which is designed especially for the youth of our country along with Mr. SubhashGhai. Other than that my 3 Album, which will be launched by Times Music, ‘Ekam Satt Reloaded’ will be performed as a theatrical with Shamiak Dawar and his troops.

  1. What would you advice to upcoming singers and musician?

I would advise the budding musicians to practice music with passion and discipline, for it is a strong medium that will enable them to deliver joy, harmony, and unity among millions across the globe. Most importantly, follow your heart and spread love and peace with meaningful music.
