It is absolutely the end of paid voice calls era. Jio customer will not have to pay for the voice calls and there would be no roaming charges within India.
For occasional users, daily tariff plan would be INR 19/day, for light users it would be 149/month, whereas for heavy users it can go up to INR 4999/month. The data rate can go on decreasing up to INR 50/GB as tariff plan increases which are way below than the data rate of competitor network service providers. Users will also get an unlimited night data for 4G.
Students will get an additional 25% discount on data. 4g speed can go high up to 135 MBPS. Apart from supporting 4g, it will also support 5g & 6g. The company has also announced ‘super affordable’ smartphones that would start at INR 2,999. There will not be blackout days for Jio customers.
Reliance has also given Aadhar based e-KYC verification system to ensure fast activation of sim cards. It promises walking away with activated sim card in an ideal scenario. The company is giving a welcome offer to all customers from September 5 to December 31 by offering free data services for the first month after the launch.
Reliance Jio will be formally launched in September, but Reliance has surely given something to look forward to customers. Having the target of 100 million Jio customers, it would be interesting to see how it attracts Indian customers.
