Lenovo’s Revenue in India Surpasses $2.5 Billion

Lenovo has reported a remarkable $2.5 billion in year-to-date (YTD) revenue from India for the fiscal year 2025, surpassing the revenue achieved in the previous financial year. This milestone highlights Lenovo’s continued growth and success in the Indian market, fueled by its expansive manufacturing capabilities, tech talent, and strategic research and development initiatives. 

At the Lenovo TechWorld India 2025 event in Mumbai, Matthew Zielinski, President of International Markets at Lenovo, shared the company’s ambitious plans for India, positioning the country as a key hub for the development of next-generation artificial intelligence (AI) and GPU-based servers. Lenovo is not only committed to manufacturing locally but also making India a significant exporter of its products globally. In 2024, the company’s operations in India resulted in shipments worth Rs 18,000 crores, with manufacturing spread across three facilities in the country. 

Lenovo’s presence in India extends beyond manufacturing, with a strong PC and Motorola business. The company holds the top position in global PC sales and has seen significant growth in its Motorola segment in India, with a 21% revenue increase and a market share of 8%. Additionally, Lenovo’s Motorola phones manufactured in India are now being exported globally, including to North America. 

Looking ahead, Lenovo aims to further enhance its manufacturing footprint in India, with plans to increase local PC production from 30% to 50% by next year and potentially reach 100% within three years. The company also launched a new AI server manufacturing facility in Puducherry in 2024, poised to produce 50,000 enterprise AI servers and 2,400 high-end GPU units annually. With its expanding R&D capabilities and commitment to innovation, Lenovo is positioning India as a critical part of its global strategy.
