Leena Nair steps down as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Unilever to take the position of CEO at the French luxury group Chanel. Leena Nair will leave the company in January 2022.
Leena Nair was the first female and youngest-ever Chief Human Resources Officer at Unilever. After joining HUL, the Indian subsidiary of Unilever, in 1992, she remained with Anglo-Dutch FMCG market leaders for 30 years.
Leena Nair announced her new position on Twitter and even expressed her gratitude towards Unilever. Alan Jope, CEO of Unilever, congratulated her on her appointment and expressed her importance in the company’s growth over the years. She will be the second Indian origin Global CEO after Indra Nooyi, former chief executive of PepsiCo.
