Indian Railways

The Indian Railways had suspended all; its service on March 28 and those trains which were running were only allowed to reach its destination. However, the Indian Railway board members have decided to plan for a phased resumption of all its services though the government is yet to give a final call on this decision of the Railways.

While the Railway Board awaits instruction from the Government regarding the same, the board members have asked the zonal directors to draw a plan for phase-wise resumption of its services. The board has also instructed the team to start planning after April 14 and submit a report to the ministry.

No decision has yet been made by the government regarding the resumption of around 13,000 trains after April 15. Zonal directors commented that even if few trains are resumed, it would be overflowing with passengers depending on the route they take. However, the officials have agreed to take into consideration whatever the government decides.
