The e-commerce giant, Flipkart and the ride-hailing service provider, Uber have joined hands to ensure the delivery of essential commodities. However, the companies have decided to only deliver everyday essentials in just some cities. The officials of both the companies have decided to offer their combined services in cities including Mumbai, Bangalore, and Delhi for now.
The official of Flipkart stated that the main aim behind this partnership is to help move goods from vendors to customers in the shortest possible time. The officials further stated that even during the time of this pandemic outbreak, Flipkart will remain committed to help its customers during the times of emergency.
Meanwhile, for those who are unaware, this is Uber’s third partnership. Before joining hands with Flipkart, it also collaborated with Bigbasket and Spenser. The officials of Uber announced that the company will not be charging any commission fee for its services and money earned through the delivers will be given to the drivers itself.
Uber has also taken extra care to ensure that all its drivers will have enough masks, sanitizers, gloves and has also started providing training to maintain safety and take precautions against the spread of COVID-19.
