Zomato is recovering after the pandemic, it suffered a plunge in its revenues. They said that the first fiscal quarter this year was better than first fiscal quarter of the last year. Zomato will be launching grocery section on its application. It invested hugely in Grofers which is an e-tailor platform for grocery.
Food delivery business was hit in the first wave of covid due to fear of virus and surface transmission. The fear of surface transmission has gone away and we have delivered crores orders in the last 18 months without even a single case of transmission through food delivery said chief financial officer Akshant Goyal.
The company’s average order value (AOV) has been increasing steadily in the pandemic.
