Bajaj Auto reports 31% drop in June sales

On Thursday, Bajaj Auto reported a 31% decline from 4,04,624 units in the same month last year, for a sale of 2.78,097 units.

Bajaj Auto said in a regulatory filing in June 2019 that domestic sales fell 34 percent at 1,51,189 units last month compared to 2,29,225 units.

In addition, the company said its overall sales of 2-wheelers fell 27% at 2,55,122 units compared to 3,51,291 units in the year-ago month.

Sales of 1,46,695 domestic two-wheelers last month decreased by 26 percent, compared to 1,99,340 units in June 2019.

Overall sales of commercial vehicles also decreased by 57% to 22,975 units last month compared to 53,333 units in the previous year, with domestic sales falling by 85 percent to 4,494 units compared to 29,885 units in June 2019.

Bajaj Auto reported that its total exports last month decreased by 28 percent to 1,26,908 units compared to 1,75,399 units in June 2019.

For the first quarter ended 30 June, the total sales of the company decreased by 64 percent to 4,43,103 units compared to 12,47,174 units in the period April-June 2019-20.
