Bharti Airtel Loss Widens to Rs 15,933 Crore in June Quarter

Bharti Airtel’s quarterly loss rose to Rs 15,933 crore in April-June from the loss of Rs 2,866 crore in the same period last year as the firm provided Rs 36,832.2 crore to the adjusted gross revenues owed by the Supreme Court payable by the firm.

Bharti Airtel’s revenue from operations rose 15.4 percent to Rs 23,938.7 crore from Rs 20,737.9 crore in the same timeframe last year.

Bharti Airtel’s average revenue per user, a primary indicator of how much the telecommunications firm profits from the consumer, rose to Rs 157 a month from Rs 129 in the first quarter of the last financial year.

The company’s combined earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) or operating income amounted to Rs 10,639 crore and the operating profit margin was 44.4 percent.

The company’s 4 G mobile subscribers rose by 4.3 crores year-on-year (YoY) growth of 45.3 percent to 13.83 crores in the June period.

Bharti Airtel ‘s shares ended up 0.3 percent higher at Rs 566, outperforming Sensex, which ended up 1.1 percent lower.
