The government will begin restricting e-way bill production on August 15 for taxpayers who have not filed two or more outbound supply reports by June. The Goods and Services Tax Network published a warning to that effect on Thursday, alerting taxpayers and encouraging them to file outstanding returns to avoid the blockage of e-way invoices.
“After August 15, 2021, the system will check the status of returns filed in form GSTR-3B or reports filed in form GST CMP-08 and bound the generation of EWB in case of non-filing of two or more returns in form GSTR-3B for the months up to June 2021, and non-filing of 02 or more statements in form GST CMP-08 for the quarters till April to June 2021,” said the advisory.
