Research and development (R&D) play a vital role and provides massive resources while designing products that require core engineering. With innovations and new emerging trends in technology, the (R&D) industry experienced new and enhanced features to boost the concept designing and production.

The trends in technology provided opportunities to companies for accomplishing their goals with engaging ideas and seamlessly expanded their services for different industries. Since then, many companies have come into the spotlight with the developments in working with significant R&D skillset and exceptional use of modern technologies.

Forcyst, being a prominent name in the research and development space since 2016, provides complete start-toend services from concept to production with the thirst and mindset for developing innovative products. It holds an impeccable record in high quality, timely completion, and safe solutions to mechanical and electronics industry projects.

In an exclusive interview with Insights Success, Mohnish Zaveri, the Founder, and CEO, of Forcyst, sheds light on the professional tenure of Forcyst in the research and development industry.

Kindly brief us about Forcyst and its journey so far.

Forcyst was an idea to develop products with a focus on core engineering. I started it as a freelancer in the year 2015, providing computer-aided designs on a project basis. In, 2016 along with my college batchmate Mehul Ambalia, I decided to take the journey further together with the same goal and mindset. Luckily, we got our first break in the design and prototyping field with our first technological project for IIT Bombay, Powai. We slowly got our hands-on experience in design and prototyping, exploring different cost-effective solutions.

Being the technological company in the service industry, we have always concentrated on the four main pillars for each project which are always solution-based, that is, technology, cost-effective, lead time, and quality assurance. What started as a designing service provider in 2016 was successfully evolving year after year into a full-fledged product development company with its complete focus on core engineering.

Today, as we see Forcyst, it is the one-stop solution for all product development needs, right from an idea to a marketed product under a single roof. The technological progress is taking Forcyst to the next level year after year.

What was the motivation behind commencing Forcyst in the research and development industry?

The feeling of bringing your ideas into existence is a dream come true for anybody. The thirst and mindset for developing innovative products and finding solutions for day-to-day problems have been within from early days, which got wings during our graduation and later shaped into the dedicated workforce entity. Over the years, there have been many motivational personalities all over the world whom we look up to and who have inspired us in many ways. Our goal is simple: we need to be better than yesterday. We strongly believe in the thought of “one team, one dream!”

What unique propositions does Forcyst offer, giving it an edge over its competitors?

As Forcyst provides complete product development from start to end, we believe that the combination of core mechanical and electronics with prototyping and manufacturing under one roof is the need of the hour and has given us a unique identity in the market as one of the key players in the product development field. Our team always focuses on the combination of cost-effective, least delivery time, and highest quality outputs for any projects or services.

3D printing being a niche area, what are the challenges that this sector poses?

3D Printing has become quite a competitive market because it has its own requirements, customers, and products. The first most important step in any prototyping project is selecting the best suitable technology for it. Our technical team understands the requirement of clients and studies them thoroughly to arrive at a selected method.

The main challenge is to maintain the consistency and quality output within committed lead time at economical rates. It is assumed that 3D printing is a full machine dependency job, but in actual it is equally both machine and manual dependency work where output depends on the technical person’s inputs at different prototyping stages.

Various industries utilise 3D printing. Are there any specific sectors that Forcyst focuses on? Please share.

We provide prototyping services to industries like medical & pharma, automobiles, electrical, and fastmoving consumer goods and products (FMCG).

What has been the effect of the pandemic on Forcyst, and how do you plan to or have already countered the same?

The pandemic has affected the global markets adversely. Since we are into service industries and are dependent on the supply chain, the first lockdown in March 2020 got us on the toes for the next six months. First, we ensured the safety of all our team members at offices and production units and implemented the work from systems for our maximum workforce.

Since the supply chain was getting disturbed, the team ensured that the ongoing projects were completed at the earliest before completing the standstill. We are a product development company with all resources to develop, test and manufacture. We quickly took the responsibility of playing our part in the pandemic by manufacturing the ventilators, oxygen hoods, medical essentials, safety goggles, and sanitiser bottles.

In this way, we ensured that our production units ran uninterrupted with a 25% workforce on the shop floor and the rest working from home. We have implemented the policies of work from home till March 2022 for different divisions within the company.

According to you, what is that one recent development in 3D printing that could possibly be the next big trend?

If we consider the Indian market, there have been good variants of affordable desktop printers launched by overseas companies in collaboration with Indian companies. The best part is it comes with a wide range of material selections. So, these days even professionals like doctors, engineers, and freelancers can use these desktop printers for their daily work. Metal 3D printing is still quite costly in India, so there is huge potential in various sectors if there are affordable solutions for metal 3D printing.
