Petrol and diesel prices escalate in the four metro cities of the Indian state. According to the data released by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), petrol prices have crossed the three-figure mark to ₹ 100.21 in the national capital.
Mumbai and Kolkata stand in similar situations with petrol prices being hiked to ₹ 106.25 and ₹ 100.23 in the respective states.
The fuel prices have increased consistently since June of this year, prices were hiked 16 times in June and four times since the start of July. The rate of fuel varies across states in India due to the Value-added tax.
