Hyundai and Tata Power have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to build a strong electric car charging network and accelerate EV adoption in India.
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced a cooperation with Tata Power to build a strong electric vehicle charging network throughout its dealerships in India. In this way, the country’s second-largest automaker will contribute significantly to the expansion of high-quality charging infrastructure.
The South Korean automaker claims it would improve the overall outlook on sustainable transportation and reiterate its commitment to “integrate social responsibility with economic growth and community welfare.” Furthermore, as India embarks on a journey to attain carbon neutrality in the future, such strategic connections are thought to be critical to driving the adoption of electric vehicles among customers.
According to Hyundai, the agreement with Tata Power would provide end-to-end EV charging infrastructure at HMIL dealerships, as well as supply, installation, and commission of home charging for HMIL’s EV buyers, boosting consumer convenience, experience, and overall adoption.
