Maruti Suzuki has partnered with Zydus Hospitals and has inaugurated a multispecialty hospital at Sitapur, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
A total amount of Rs 126 crore has been invested for the construction of the hospital. The Maruti Suzuki Foundation has provided the 100 percent funding for building the hospital under its CSR initiative.
Ramanbhai Foundation, the CSR arm of Zydus Group will manage and operate the hospital, while also providing assistance to covid-19 patients.
Kenichi Ayukawa, MD and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India stated that during the initiation of Maruti’s Gujarat car plant, there was no availability of any major medical facility in the region. The company decided to build a multispecialty hospital which would benefit all the residents of that area. Accordingly, it joined hands with Zydus Hospitals. Fortunately, this collaboration took place the second wave of covid-19 and now they have converted it into a covid care facility to treat the patients and to help overcome the pandemic.
It is expected that the hospital will offer its services to over 3.75 lakh people of Sitapur and other nearby villages at affordable prices. The hospital will start as a 50-bed facility, but will soon expand to 100 beds depending on the demand.
As per reports, the infrastructure is ready for expansion of the facility which covers over 7.5 acres’ area. It claims to be the first super specialty hospital in the area. The hospital is equipped with various facilities such emergency care and trauma, advanced diagnostics, mother and child care, critical care, cardiac care, eye care, ENT, and so on.
