Microsoft Teams has obtained a new Defender ‘Safe Links’ phishing protection against potentially threatening URLs. This added protection is for the users who are using Defender for Office 365 to be safe from phishing attacks that use weaponized URLs.
Earlier, the standard medium for delivering phishing links was email, but Teams usage had a surge during the pandemic making it an attractive new medium to deliver phishing URLs. Safe links is a new feature in the Office 365, which does a real time scan and verification of the URLs that the user clicks on.
