OnePlus co-founder and CEO, Pete Lau, today surprisingly announced that one budget OnePlus TV will be unveiled on 2 July at the beginning of next month via Twitter.

The caption, on the tweet, read, “We’re making our premium smart TV experience more accessible to our Indian community.”

Hence, going forward, OnePlus is likely to introduce two new OnePlus TV models. One sitting in the sub-Rs. 15.000 price segments and another 20.000 Rs. 40.000 Rs. mid-range series (maybe a 32-inch-ready smart TV). Research at Counterpoint already shows that more than 70 percent of the smart TV market share is in the budget segment, with Xiaomi as the market leader.

OnePlus succeeded in raising the OnePlus TV Q1 distribution by 3% of its luxury market share. The Q1 and Q1 Pro form 55-inch 4 K QLED screens, 50W speakers, Android TV, and a lot more. The company in India is now seeking to extend its appeal. Not only does it plan to introduce new budget smart TVs, but it also aims to sell cheaper phones.
