Sales of Tata Motors’ Nexon EV model have crossed the 50,000-unit threshold, marking a significant achievement for the Indian carmaker and a boost for the nation’s slowly but surely expanding adoption of electric vehicles.

Since its introduction, the Nexon EV has been the most well-known and praised electric vehicle in India, accounting for up to 15% of all Nexon sales.

The Nexon EV, which was introduced in January 2020, soon rose to the top of Tata’s lineup of electric vehicles. It comes in three different variations: Prime, Max, and #Dark. The 30.2 kWh battery pack in the conventional Nexon EV powers its electric motor, which generates 127 BHP. The configuration has a 312 km (MIDC cycle) range that has been verified by ARAI.

A larger 40.5 kWh battery pack powers an electric motor with an output of 141 BHP and 250 Nm in the 2022-released Nexon EV Max. It offers a 453 km range on a single charge, as approved by ARAI.  You may turn it into a very thrilling fast automobile for cities and pleasurable highway rides by adding typical electric car torque to it.

The Nexon EV Prime and Max both have touchscreens and auto air conditioning, and they cost between Rs 14.49 lakh and Rs 19.54 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Nexon EV’s sales milestone is viewed as encouraging news for the Indian auto industry, which is just beginning to embrace electric vehicles. Tata’s Nexon EV Prime and Nexon EV Max variants account for up to 15% of the Nexon’s total sales, demonstrating a rising demand for electric vehicles.

All of Nexon EV’s competitors were surprised by the company’s market success.
