Airtel, Idea takes on Reliance Jio with free voice plans

Airtel and Idea have now launched new bundled packs for its prepaid customers in an another move to counter Reliance Jio free data and calling offer. With this new offer Airtel and Idea users will be able to have free voice calling and substantial data benefits.
Airtel’s first pack that costs INR 145 offers free Local and STD Airtel-to-Airtel calls along with 300 MB data to customers with 4G ready mobile phones. Additional 50 MB data (in addition to free Airtel-to-Airtel calls across India) will be offered to customers with basic mobile phones that are ideally suited for the web surfing. The pack will have a validity of 28 days and is available to customers across India.
The INR 345 pack offers free Local and STD calls to any network in India along with 1GB data to customers with 4G-enable smartphones.
This pack will also offer 50MB data to customers with basic mobile phones, apart from the free calling offer, which are ideally suited for web surfing and accessing light social media applications. The pack will also valid for a span of 28 days and will be available to customers across India.
Idea’s first plan costs INR 148 and offers free Local and STD Idea-to-Idea calls across India and additional 50MB of data like Airtel. Additional 300 MB of data will be offered to customers with 4G handsets in addition to voice benefit. The pack will have a validity of 28 days.
The second of Idea that costs INR 348 will offer free Local and STD calls across all networks in India along with 50MB of data. In the same pack, 1 GB of data will be offered to the customers with 4G handsets in addition to voice benefit. This pack also has a validity of 28 days.
With the top network operators coming into the game that started by Reliace Jio, it will be interesting to see who wins the war and how.
