Most firms today have implemented or are in the process of adopting technologies to keep up with the quickly changing technological landscape, thanks to rapid digital transformation. New technologies and solutions, such as hybrid or multi-cloud architecture, raise complexities and put old IT strategies to the test, which may no longer be capable of dealing with the difficulties resulting from digital transformation. The sheer volume of data created nowadays makes it challenging for teams to make optimal use of it.

AIOps, which stands for ‘Artificial Intelligence in IT Operations,’ is a new technology that uses artificial intelligence to assist IT Operations in addressing the problems of fast digital transformation. AIOps can help IT teams operate more effectively in addition to addressing gaps. Codewave Technologies stands strong in providing these AIOps based solutions globally. In an exclusive interview with Insights Success, Abhijith HK, CEO, and Founder of Codewave, gives us insights into how the firm works.

Please describe about Codewave Technologies.

Codewave Technologies, located in Bengaluru, is a design-thinking-led digital transformation firm. We are actively assisting businesses in the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Australia, the United Kingdom, and France in successfully navigating the path to digital transformation. We assist SMEs in over 13 different industries, including retail, healthcare, agriculture, education, hospitality, transportation, media and entertainment, and BFSI. Our primary products are design thinking, UI/UX, analytics, online and mobile solutions, data analytics, enterprise AI/ML, Blockchain solutions, edge and IoT, digital infrastructure, and process automation.

What made you venture into the AIops sector?

We ventured into AIOps because it provides the necessary firepower to organizations to support their aspirations in data, cloud, AI/ML verticals. By continuous algorithmic monitoring and intelligent analysis of IT infrastructure in real-time, a big chunk of operations-focused processes gets automated, and human intervention is required only for high-priority business-critical tasks. This helps enterprises build resilience, build efficient automated processes, optimize revenue channels, and tap into the power of automation to scale their business.

What kind of offerings do you provide to your clients?

We enable organisations to build solutions that provide greater visibility into your on-premises infrastructure and cloud infra as well. AIOps solutions help you assess threats, vulnerabilities, risks, and their impact on business-critical apps in real-time. On a high level, our AIOps offerings are targeted at – IT Ops management, Software asset management, and IT service management.

  1. Intelligently monitor cloud infrastructure
  2. Eliminate noise from alerts, and focus on critical risks
  • Anticipate, identify, and fix threats and vulnerabilities before it gets exploited.
  1. Replace legacy ad-hoc processes with modern automated processes that auto-remediates as well.

Apart from these, we also help companies build design thinking-led mobile and web applications, data, IoT, and edge solutions. We build Analytics, AI, and ML capabilities using open source/proprietary technologies on a need basis. Here’s a shortlist of applications that we have built in the past –

What kind of challenges have you faced while entering the infrastructure management services sector?

Building unified solutions and educating/training the client’s team about how things would function in the AIOps led IT infrastructure is challenging.

Embracing automated ITOps, and getting comfortable with the cultural transformation, which is inevitable as soon as an organization steps into AI-led digital transformation, will take some time.

Interoperability with existing tools/platforms/services is another challenge for the AIOps community.

How was Codewave affected during the pandemic, and what were the steps you took to curb the damages while helping your clients and maintaining the safety of your employees?

Early 2020 was a time of great uncertainty for everyone in the world, not just the Codewave. We went remote as soon as we realized there was a threat. It was challenging to adjust to the new normal. We were quite robust and rapidly acclimated to the isolated circumstances, owing to our culture. Our internal project collaboration tools, Timely and Peerly, proved to be really useful. In reality, we are now a hybrid organization. Following the pandemic, a large number of individuals continue to work remotely.

Everything went smoothly for the clients. There are no escalations. Because all of our products are designed on the cloud, there were few operational issues.

Finally, hiring and onboarding new members became more difficult. But, with time, we’ve mastered this as well.

What would you like to advise the young generation of entrepreneurs and enthusiasts who want to venture into the AIOps sector?

While building AIOps solutions, build multiple models. A forest is better than a giant tree while building models. A forest of the giant tree is good as well. Also, the data you feed to models is highly critical to the final outcome enterprises will see. So, make sure the data is of high quality. Lastly, don’t build highly complex applications on the first attempt.

In the long run, where do you envision Codewave Technologies to be in the long run, and what are your future goals? How do you plan to embrace the changes happening in the AIOps sector?

This year we have hit USD 1M+ in ARR, and we continue to grow sustainably. We are always at the forefront when it comes to flirting with new technologies, and the long-term goals are to continue doing the same while we build highly scalable digital solutions for our partners and the most democratic, self-managed, social workplace in the world.

What is the current industrial scenario of the infrastructure management services sector?

AIOps market is estimated to grow at a healthy CAGR of 21%, and soon it will be a USD 40 Billion industry. We expect to see an increase in AIOps tools built to handle multiple data types and are made for various use cases in the coming years. The focus on AIOps powered remote work, AIOps powered security, and preventative remediation would also see good growth.

The Dynamic Duo

Abhijith is the CEO and Founder of Codewave Technologies. He is a technology director who assists organizations in thriving in the age of design, technology, and agile hyperness. Over the last ten years, he has assisted over 100 businesses in architecting and implementing ‘speed at scale’ technical solutions. He has extensive experience working with hundreds of visionary executives from various sectors, as well as 140+ highly skilled engineers, designers, and consultants at Codewave.

But this was not something he expected to accomplish with his life. He used to be a scientific nerd who enjoyed playing guitar and playing PS3. Soon after meeting his girlfriend, he decided to follow his passion for coding by launching a firm.

Vidhya and Abhijith founded ‘Codewave’ in 2013, a design-led digital transformation firm that also created its own culture.

Since then, the Codewave team has produced 300+ digital solutions and assisted 100s of organizations with varied levels of digital integration—aspiring, progressing, and plateauing.

The unique selling point of Codewave is its ability to cut through the noise and get to the signal. Codewavers assist businesses in unlocking and optimizing growth channels by identifying:

  1. What is worth deleting now.
  2. What should be built from scratch, and what should be modernized/renovated.
