FreeCharge, a digital payments company, has partnered with Jugnoo, an auto rickshaw aggregator to make digital payments easier through its swift and secure wallet.
FreeCharge was founded in 2010 with an aim to provide online facility to recharge any prepaid, postpaid, DTH and Data Cards in India and is owned by Snapdeal.
The partnership between the FreeCharge and Jugnoo will enable more than 12,000 auto-rickshaws to go cashless by opting the FreeCharge across 40 cities in India.
“Our partnership with Jugnoo is another step to make daily payments more convenient and frictionless in the lives of consumers. Now commuters need not carry cash or struggle to tender exact change to pay for their auto rides as they can seamlessly complete their payment transaction in less than 10 seconds using the Freecharge wallet. This association will give us access to 3.5 million user base of Jugnoo thereby giving us an opportunity to further influence daily habits of consumers to move from cash to digital payments,” said Sudeep Tandon, Chief Business Officer Freecharge.
Jugnoo has a user base of 3.5 million and an average of 40,000 daily transactions. Moreover, with this partnership Jugnoo will be aiming to create a great user experience to customers by helping them to move away from cash to cashless payment.
This partnership will help Jugnoo to maximize its business reach across the country and will also help in augmenting Jugnoo’s services. Also, this deal will help FreeCharge to strengthen its presence in the country.
