Due the lockdown situation, entertainment industries are in loss. Movie theatres like Inox Leisure and PVR Ltd., are running in huge losses from last one-and-a-half year, as the theatres are held shut.
Amazon company, which launched Amazon Prime in Bengaluru, India on July 26, 2016, is ‘planning to acquire’ these movie theatres business chain, which are affected by the pandemic badly.
But in India, the entertainment market is different from the US, because the revenue generated by movie theatres in US per customer is much higher than the revenue generated in India per head.
The Amazon company has not given any confirmation regarding buying those theatres yet.
