Shanthi Prasad: An Optimistic HR Professional Honestly Passionate about His Goals

Born and brought up in Mangalore, the only coastal area in Karnataka, Shanthi belongs to an agricultural family. His parents are into cultivating arecanut and coconut. His mind usually draws towards agriculture. However, deep down, he always wished to study and work for a reputed organization. One of his mentors always said, “The smooth sea never made a good sailor.” And to sail across the sea, getting into the water should be the first step. Shanthi literally believes in these words whenever he feels something is very challenging. Today, he bagged this award purely due to his parent’s prayers, the well wishes of his colleagues and his willingness to work hard. 

Shanthi tends to talk to the elderly and connect with experienced people. To know their life or professional experiences, making his life decisions easier. Through this award, he learned that life isn’t as easy as he thought and that things don’t happen as planned. But having hope and giving continuous effort will fetch you a good result one or the other day. And that’s why he is very optimistic about things. And passionate about his goals by being honest with himself.

Being an HR, Shanthi keeps himself updated with all the upcoming notifications from the concerned departments or legal notices. He ensures that the employees are educated with the proper required information. He also ensures he is always available to the employees seeking help and assistance. And that’s when the employees feel they have someone to listen to and share. As a result, there’s a possibility of retaining employees for a longer period. He always maintains good language. A fusion of a friendly and strict environment. And doing things at the right place and right time.

After completing his professional studies and two months of internship, Shanthi joined one of the reputed companies in Bangalore as a trainee to assist in all the HR and IR activities. He had a supportive HR team to groom him into an effective HR professional. He got a very good platform. To learn about all HR aspects. Like HR process, Industrial Relations, Payroll, Trade Union, Employee engagement activities, CSR etc. 

He has over four years of experience in Human Resources, Industrial Relations and General Administration. He is currently working for M/s Sandhar Components Unit-1, Bangalore. As an HR – Head, Senior Executive. He believes that he is skilled and proficient at handling skilled and unskilled employees and staff as well. That motivated him to pick up the HR line. To be a master in it. Still, a long way to go.
