A good sculptor carves out a life of success. However, a great sculptor carves out a life of significance from a life of success. Small town girl, born in a very traditional Rajput family and brought up in a protective environment, Shilpi had ambitions and she strongly believed that life could be molded into any shape resonating with the willing intensity of the sculptor. In the domain of business, these sculptors are called human resources or people’s leaders.

Sculpting An Amazing Charisma

Her inclination towards business administration took her to pursue a Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management/Marketing from one of the top business schools, Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad to course her own professional career on the path of monumental success and awe-inspiring excellence.

Today, having over a decade of experience in people management, PR, marketing, Business Development, and administration, it is no surprise that Shilpi has been awarded as Top 100 HR Leaders by ET, Most Promising Woman Leader in HR by Zee, and many other awards and accolades from national and international media. Shilpi started her career with Airtel, New Delhi, in 2004 as HR Coordinator, and an end-product Trainer. Then she joined the very prestigious Times Now Media as HR Business Partner in 2006 and played an HR Relationship Manager’s role for all non-editorial departments. Further, she was also a part of the core team for the launch of ET Now.

Motherhood gave her the perennial dilemma of choice: To work or not to work. She did not want to choose not to work at all and represent a loss to collective investment in talent. But a choice was to be made!

So, with an 18-month-old daughter, she decided not to take a sabbatical, but become her own boss. She chose an option that would give her the freedom to shadow her daughter all the time while successfully setting up the franchise of the Kangaroo Kids’ Initiative in Worli along with an HR consultancy. Right from budgeting, particularly in its infancy, to recruitment, training and further marketing and advertising to create and maintain the brand image in South Mumbai, Shilpi looked after multiple aspects for Corporates and Education Systems across the country—Developing, coordinating, and implementing overall policies and procedures, training, recruitment including campus recruitment; for MNCs across the globe.

Once her daughter was independent, she got back into the corporate world after seven years. She joined the Taj Group of Companies as Head of Human Resources and after that short stint, Shilpi joined Della by Jimmy Mistry at the beginning of 2017 as HR Head.

Shilpi shares, “Della by Jimmy Mistry offers a comprehensive luxury furniture range for Homes, Offices, and Hotels with over 250 stately collections to choose from. Our indoor and outdoor furniture is an incredible amalgamation of eccentric design, intricate details, and unparalleled quality, rendering a luxurious appeal to any space.”

At Della Concept Stores, Shilpi was hired to handle the entire employee lifecycle. Later, Founder, Jimmy Mistry got her to understand the nitty-gritties of the business and its stake holders and further she headed multiple departments to sense the culture of the company and bridged the gap using her emotional intelligence and analytical skills.

Shilpi Singhthe Director of Della Leaders Club (DLC)–thrives with a unique approach through her traits, highlighting an exemplary people’s leader and helping thousands of professional individuals to succeed and shape their own lives into significantly magnificent sagas.

During the first wave of the pandemic, Shilpi, being one of the founding team members of Della Leaders Club (DLC)–World’s first business platform–was promoted as a full-time Director. According to Jimmy Mistry, DLC’s Founder, most leaders start with a great idea and immense passion; what they never start out with is a handbook. Today we live in an age where there is an App for everything.

Even though domain knowledge and trade organizations are plenty, there doesn’t exist a single business platform with unbiased, curated, and geared content for time-starved Entrepreneurs and C-Suite. Thus, the inception of DLC was solely to provide its members with a 360° support platform of a Global Community of Like-Minded Peers.

At DLC, Shilpi utilizes her skills and expertise in New Market Expansion and Operations Management.
