IBM Signs MoU with IL&FS to Advance Quality of Education

IBM has contracted a memorandum of understanding with the Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services (IL&FS) Education to aid improving the quality of skills and education for the over 10 million peoples portion of the IL&FS network.

As part of the deal, IBM will offer certified IT Courses in IL&FS Institutes of Skills, run and instrument job exchange and other such facilities for the use of IL&FS training centres. They will also be launching  IT courses which have been advanced by IBM in IL&FS Institutes of Skills.

“We are helping to sort education more observant and personalized through this partnership by making a technology-driven, personalized tutoring and learning,” Lula Mohanty, Vice President, Services at IBM added. IBM will also exercise its cognitive technology path, IBM Watson, as part of the partnership.

“We will use the IBM Watson data cloud as a chunk of the deal, and access Watson education insight services, student information, insights, Watson library — these are big data sets that have been made through collaboration and inputs with many universities. On top of this, we relate big data analytics,” Mohanty said.

IL&FS Education has a existence in 25,000 schools and more than 250 institutes for skill building, and right reaches out to 10 million students, industrial clusters, teachers, job-seeking youth and community at large. The partnership would permit students, parents leverage and teachers the insights and capability of the Watson system.
