“I had to balance my family requirements while maintaining the minimum business needs; although our father was a businessman, it was more like a first-gen business for me. I had no investment or a backup income. A few relatives were worried for my future and were not in favour of me going in for a business, particularly as I had a wife and a small kid to take care of,” says Krishnaa Laxmi Narsimhaa, Managing Director and CEO of Iyengaars Property Valuers and Law Services.
“I used to work during the nights in different organizations like HSBC, IBM, ITC Infotech over a period of time and used to work in my business in the day. It was challenging, but doable,” adds Krishnaa.
The pandemic has been a challenging time for everyone. Iyengaars also had its fair share of challenges and we paid salaries to our staff even during the pandemic although business was low to nil too! However, the business is slowly picking up and the industry will be back to normal soon.

Krishnaa is both an Advocate and a Valuation professional and has Post-graduations in Valuation and in Law. He is ably supported by his wife Vidya, who is a B. Com graduate and has gained valuable knowledge while working with Krishnaa, and manages the office staff, appointments and other related office matters.
Their children, Varun Narasimha, & Vrathin Narasimha are budding lawyers who assist in the valuations, site visits, legal matters etc. Dhatri Vasishta is an able employee who does most of the back office work.

The ‘Value’ Bringer
Managing Director and CEO of Iyengaars Valuers and Law Services, Krishnaa Laxmi Narasimhaa, is a Diploma Ceramic Engineer with additional qualifications in Business Administration. He holds a Degree in Law and is presently working for a master’s in LLM and a certification from the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. (MRICS)
Krishnaa holds Master’s degrees in valuation and is an approved valuer with life membership of the Indian Institution of Valuers, Pune.
He has additional certifications in Financial Modelling and Business Valuation. Krishnaa had an early start in the real estate space. He got exposed to the real estate market ever since he was young. He started selling plots and lands when he was about 14-15 years old. Even during his high school days Krishnaa used to work with various Realtors and involve in selling sites and plots in Bengaluru. Krishnaa used to assist them in introducing clients and gained as much knowledge as possible. The real estate industry interested him in such a way that it eventually became his career.
After his college education in 1986, he relocated to Himachal and Rajasthan, where he worked for around 5-6 years. He returned in 1992 and joined Beary’s Real Estates and later worked with Feroze Estates to nurture his experience.
At Beary’s Real Estates, he learnt the fundamentals of the realty business. Shri. Syed Beary, (Krishnaa’s boss & Mentor there) was a man of ethics and commitment. He learnt a lot about the real estate industry and its intricacies while working at the Beary’s Real Estates.
To his surprise, Krishna found that the process of buying and selling properties in India was mired in controversy and an intricate, convoluted, long-winded process, which still did not guarantee that the purchase was a trouble-free property. Additionally, clients had no way of knowing the actual fair value of the property they intended to buy.
Realtors were notorious for over quoting, using one sided agreements to sell, and adding a rate/shift on top of the amount, which was all intended to shortchange the sellers and the buyers. Only the broker-agent nexus was making money in between.
In order to provide a fair value to prospective buyers and also to reduce the menace of broker- agent nexus, Iyengaars decided to provide property valuation and legal verification services.
