Prahula Lewis: Schindler’s Always Cheerful Ms Congeniality Spreading Joy

Prahula Lewis
Prahula

Prahula’s name describes her quite well; she is always cheerful and spreading joy. She is fondly nicknamed Ms Congeniality in Schindler. She is amongst the few young professionals with a strong drive, ownership and growth mindset. She approaches work intending to deliver customer delight and collaborates seamlessly with stakeholders across the board.

She joined Schindler within Performance and Rewards Team and contributed to Total Rewards, HR Tech and HR Operations to help in the project of CTC restructuring and implementation of Flexi compensation. Her excellent analytical mindset and problem-solving attitude helped the organization identify and resolve critical pain points in Sales attrition.

In no time, she mesmerized all stakeholders with her commitment and the ultimate “can do” attitude while taking on all tasks with positive energy and enthusiasm. Her upbeat personality and engaging personal style enable her to interact effectively with stakeholders and colleagues. She is proactive in engaging with her stakeholders and is positively passionate about taking ownership of the assignment. In a very short time, she picked up on the subject and did a terrific job driving performance management and HR analytics and providing various levels of support on rewards projects.

A few of the key projects that she worked on are as follows:

  • Car Policy for Managers and Above

  • Onboarding and Exit Modules – PeopleStrong ALT Vendor

  • Sabbatical Policy

  • Performance Management Process for 2021-22

  • Microsoft Employee Query Tool (Enterprise Service Management, i.e. ESM)

  • Customer Oriented capability for the front-line employees

  • Digitalization of employee life-cycle processes on one platform

Apart from the regular initiatives, Prahula also took up the daunting task of mapping the root cause of Sales attrition and, through a structured approach, has set a course for long-term actions preventing the same. The project supported an initial reduction of attrition by up to 4-5%, thereby saving the cost of new hires and limiting the impact on customer experience. Key learnings from the project are the Systematic approach, Data-centric analysis, and keeping an open mind. She always believes that “Favourable conditions are created not to retain employees but wherein they retain themselves.”

On receiving the award, she says she’s truly honoured and would like to thank HRAI for giving her this recognition. Very grateful towards Schindler India for having faith in her by providing various opportunities to challenge and develop herself. This recognition has surely boosted her confidence and clarified that she’s working in the right direction. Ultimately, she’ll cherish 30 under 30 for the rest 30 years of her life!
