Reliance Jio Crosses 50-Million Subscriber Milestone in 83 Days

Mukesh Ambani led telecommunication giant Reliance Jio, has crossed the 50 million subscriber mark in just three months after its full fledged 4G services were launched. It has been successful in emerging as the largest telecommunication operator in the country. Setting a new record, it has acquired 1000 customers per minute and 6 lakh per day since September 5.
Jio continues to be the fastest growing company in the world and has crossed 50 million subscribers record in just 83 days. Reliance Jio Infocomm has proved to be the new errant in the 4G market, competing with Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular.
Challenging the industry estimates, the company has been successful in fetching 6 lakh customers per day, which is a globally unprecedented feat for many customer-facing companies like Whatsapp, Skype and Facebook.
Jio has also achieved the milestone of being the “Largest Digital Service Provider” in India with the highest number of mobile broadband users surpassing many telecom major companies in its segment.
Jio, whose controversial entry into the world’s second-largest telephony market started a tariff war, which was successful on-boarding 1.5 million users on its 4G network during the testing phase.
It is aggressively competing with players in its segment and is offering users data services free till December 31 2016, only if they buy Jio connection by December 03 2016.
From January 01 2017 the data services will become chargeable with varying rates starting at Rs. 19 a day for marginal data users, Rs. 149 a month for nominal data users and Rs. 4,999 a month for heavy data subscribers. Jio has also promised to keep voice and roaming services free for life.
