As you know, our industry encountered an unexpected disruption in the global supply chain for a crucial component essential to our battery production during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Simultaneously, we were in the process of founding Helios Batteries.
This disruption had various facets, arising from geopolitical factors, heightened demand across industries, and unforeseen events affecting the availability of vital raw materials. The consistent supply of raw materials is paramount for any organization; without it, progressing toward our vision becomes challenging.
In response to this supply chain challenge, our team promptly took action to diversify our supplier base. We conducted thorough research, initiated negotiations with new suppliers, and implemented rigorous quality assessments to facilitate a seamless transition without compromising the excellence of our lithium-ion batteries. Concurrently, our research and development team collaborated with external partners to explore alternative materials that could substitute for the temporarily unavailable component. This undertaking involved a swift prototyping and testing phase to validate the performance and safety of these alternatives.
