The NCERT Chemistry book for class 11 consists of 14 chapters, covering different concepts of Chemistry that may continue in class 12. You should thoroughly go through the NCERT book and practice all the questions and exercises given after each chapter. Tips to be kept in mind while preparing for the exam include:

  • The Chemistry subject in classes 11 and 12 is divided into three categories – Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, and Inorganic Chemistry. Students must be thorough with all the concepts of these divisions.
  • Physical Chemistry – This section consists of numerical and theory portions that are asked in final exams and many competitive exams. You must practice numerical problems daily and memorise all the important formulas. This will also boost your confidence and help you understand which topic you need to focus more on. Make a note of all the important formulas. It can be beneficial at the time of revision. Equilibrium, Thermodynamics, Atoms, States of Matter and Chemical Bonding, and Molecular Structure are important physical chemistry chapters.
  • Organic Chemistry – Organic Chemistry is the most important part of class 11 Chemistry. It forms the foundation for many of the topics that are discussed in class 12.
