Rajeev’s View on Emerging Market
The  demand  for  animation,  VFX  and  gaming  has  expanded  with  the  increase  of  targeted broadcasting hours by cable and satellite TV, availability of low cost internet access, penetration of mobile devices along with the growing popularity of streaming video.
Hollywood movies go all over the world with so much CG and special effects because of fantasy. It is difficult to believe that the tiger in the movie ‘Life of Pi’ is not a real tiger but a digital one”, says Rajeev.
“We are increasingly seeing more of the global animation, VFX and games production taking place in a globally distributed mode. Production work is becoming global with tax incentives, regional low labor costs and lower computing costs, which put pressure on companies to reduce costs and set up facilities in tax advantaged or low-cost regions”, says Rajeev.
The Road Ahead: Progress towards Perfection
Drishyam VFX aims to work for all the possible verticals of visual effects from films to OTT platforms and thrives to be in a fast changing environment where there’s business growth. “The future of the industry will always be uncertain, shaky, and scary at times. By the same token that we have no idea what is coming, it is exciting to know what is possible and to dream of what will be created and what we can create”, he says
“The whole concept of perceiving VFX is changing with the emerging digital markets. I always believed that transparency with clients has to be 100%, it brings about nuances and clarity within shots and the script. VFX is no more swarming, it’s more of a creative field and one needs to be particular in ascertaining budgets and time to it,” asserts Rajeev Kumar.
